Arvest Bank History:
Arvest’s narrative is one of devotion, which began with our founders’ unwavering commitment to concentrating on the client. This concept has remained consistent throughout our evolution from a small bank to a collection of community banks capable of offering a full range of financial services.
The Arvest tale begins in Northwest Arkansas with the purchase of The Bank of Bentonville in 1961, which had $3.5 million in deposits. It continued in 1963 with the purchase of an even smaller bank in the adjacent community of Pea Ridge. In 1975, another bank was bought in the adjoining town of Rogers, and for over a decade, these banks, each operated locally, formed the Arvest banking network.
The firm started a growth phase by buying First National Bank of Siloam Springs in 1984. It bought McIlroy Bank & Trust in Fayetteville in 1986. Through acquisitions in Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma during the following two decades, the bank extended its position inside its home state and surrounding states. By 2006, the bank had grown to over 200 locations. It had also renamed all of its community banks Arvest Bank and increased its assets to more than $7 billion.
